Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday was overwhelmed with emotions as he dedicated more than 90,000 houses completed under PMAY-Urban in Maharashtra. A total of 15,000 newly constructed houses of Raynagar Housing Society in Solapur were handed over to beneficiaries, including handloom workers, vendors, power loom workers, rag pickers, Bidi workers, drivers, and others. Addressing a gathering in Solapur, the prime minister said, “Under the PM Awas Yojana, the inauguration of the country's largest society has taken place." Fighting back his tears, he added, “I went to see it and wished if I had a chance to live in such a house when I was a kid. I feel content when I see that the dreams of thousands of families have been fulfilled. And their blessings are the biggest asset for me.”

Two days after the debacle, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) shared a video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi meeting Indian players in the dressing room right after the match and consoling the crestfallen players. The video has come amid widespread disappointment among Indian fans after the World Cup Final loss at the hands of Australia. Team India faced a heart-breaking loss to Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Final on November 19. Despite the disappointment, the top wicket-taker in the tournament, Mohammed Shami expressed his gratitude to fans for their support. India came close to clinching the World Cup trophy after 12 years. There were cold drinks, fruit juices, cornflakes, a special organic tea which the Argentines prefer and a lot of coffee. There was no alcohol,” Mumbai resident Shaikh Ishraque Ahmad, who has been working in Doha for two years and was contracted by FIFA to be among the support staffers at the Qatar University premises, told mid-day on Monday.

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on September 25 raised questions about the "merits" of the US-Pakistan relationship and a relationship with Islamabad that has not served the 'American Interest'.
