The Enforcement Directorate has questioned TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee in connection with the alleged West Bengal primary school recruitment scam. The development comes just a day after Abhishek Banerjee underwent an extensive CID interrogation in the alleged MLA signature forgery case, making it two major investigations in two days. Investigators are examining financial records, digital evidence and alleged money trails linked to the recruitment scam. The back-to-back questioning comes at a time when the Trinamool Congress is already facing political turbulence, internal rebellion and mounting controversies.  

West Bengal is witnessing a political controversy after Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari ordered an investigation into an advertising agency allegedly linked to the Mamata Banerjee camp. The probe centres around an alleged ₹635 crore money trail spread across multiple transactions and bank accounts. Authorities are examining around 20 transactions as part of the investigation, while allegations of misuse of public funds have intensified the political battle. The development comes at a time when the Trinamool Congress is already facing a major internal rebellion and organisational turmoil.
