The US would welcome any country interested in using its voice to further deter the Russian offensive in Ukraine and play a positive role in helping release hostages and defeating Hamas amid the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, US State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said at a press briefing on April 18. Asked how the US and the international community can use Prime Minister Narendra Modi's influence to end the ongoing war worldwide, Patel said, “Specifically, first in the context of Russia-Ukraine, if any country is interested in using its voice to further deter Russian aggression on the people of Ukraine, we certainly would welcome that and in the current ongoing context in Gaza, any country that believes that they can play a positive role in helping us get to a release of hostages, helping us get additional humanitarian assistance into Gaza, and helping to defeat Gaza, they certainly should and are welcome to play that role.”

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, while speaking at the Munich Security Conference on February 17, affirmed India’s strong ties with Western countries in Munich. He said, “I think, it's important today to make a distinction, between being non-West and anti-West, I would not only characterise India as a country, which is non-West but which has an extremely strong relation with the Western countries, getting better by the days.” In his speech, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday reaffirmed India's stand and commitment to buy Russian oil despite respective sanctions on Moscow amid the military conflict with Ukraine, saying it should not be a problem for others.

External Affairs Minister of India, Dr S Jaishankar on December 09 addressed the audience at FICCI’s 96th Annual Convention. He talked about India’s diplomatic ties and without mentioning, he slammed the countries condemning India’s energy purchases from Russia. He said, “Diplomacy, international relations, good ties, friendships, are not about giving other people a say in your choice. Our choice must be our choice. However, difficult it is. When it came to our energy purchases, our national choices and national interest, were supposed to be subservient to the political correctness of other countries, who by the way, had made their own arrangements.”

Talking about the summit, Sadhguru said that the presence of heavy-weight leaders is important to give significance to COP28. Amid the Israel-Hamas conflict, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting with the foreign Ambassador on Nov 06. He told 80 foreign ambassadors that his country was engaged in a global battle against 'an axis of terror' led by Iran. Speaking in Tel Aviv, PM Benjamin Netanyahu warned if the Middle East fell then Europe would be next. Israel pounded Hamas in Gaza with more air, ground attacks after the October 07 surprise attack by the militant group. Israel has struck Gaza from the air, imposed a siege and launched a ground assault, stirring global alarm. As per health ministry in Gaza, at least 10,022 Palestinians have since been killed, including 4,104 children in retaliation.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar while addressing the Joint Session of the Italian Senate's External Affairs and Defence Commission and the EU Affairs Commission in Rome, explained that Italy is the oldest link of India with Europe. Dr S Jaishankar said, “Italy is historically among our oldest links with Europe. In recent years, Italy has also played a very, made a very major contribution to strengthening, cooperation with the European Union, as a whole. We have been in the midst of negotiations since 2021 a set of agreements, the most important of which is a free trade agreement with the European Union. We also have, last year, set up, a trade and technology council, with the European Union. The EU only has 2 of these councils, one with the United States and one with India. The fact that the EU, the US, and India are today coordinating and cooperating very closely on technology matters is something which is very, important to recognize.” “We see very frankly very difficult times ahead, very turbulent times ahead. In the last 5 years the impact, on the global economy, certainly, but even on society of COVID has been very, traumatic. There are still many countries and many societies which have not recovered from it. We have seen, that progress in sustainable development goals, in many countries, has been rolled back, and many more countries today are facing, a financial economic crisis, and debt is a very big problem. Trade has been very challenging. We've had the conflict in Ukraine. In a globalized world, it has affected every part of the world,” he added. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar embarked his official visit to Portugal and Italy from October 31 to November 3.
