An Indian Air Force convoy was attacked by the terrorists in the Poonch district of Jammu & Kashmir on May 04. According to the officials, five personnel were injured and one of them lost life. Soon after the attack, Rashtriya Rifles unit cordoned off the area and massive search operations were carried out. Multi-agencies rescue operations are being carried out on a war footing to rescue the 41 trapped workers. 41 workers have been trapped inside the Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi since November 12 after the Uttarkashi Tunnel collapse. Leaving no stone unturned to evacuate the workers, manual drilling began after auger drilling machine was busted. While updating on the rescue operations, Mirco Tunnelling expert Chris Cooper on Nov 28 stated that only 5-6 meters are left. So far, only 2 meters of manual drilling has been completed and workers pulled out debris from the rescue pipe. Silkyara tunnel collapsed following a landslide on Nov 12, leaving 41 workers trapped inside the tunnel. Notably, Officials have informed that the 41 workers trapped inside the tunnel are stable and safe.

Preparations to evacuate the workers trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel are in the final stage. ‘Good news’ is likely to come as the workers are expected to be pulled out from the tunnel today. To facilitate swifter evacuation, welding experts have been called from Delhi to the tunnel site. Tunnelling engineers from CIMFR Roorkee have also joined the rescue operation of of the Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse. International tunnelling expert Arnold Dix is already on the scene and playing a significant role in the rescue effort. Dix had previously assured that the workers would be safely evacuated. 41 labourers have been trapped inside the Uttarkashi Silkyara Tunnel since Nov 12. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami was on the spot to review the situation. He said that the rescue is at its final stage and that the workers will be rescued as early as possible. PM Modi is taking updates on the rescue every single day. He took the update today as well.

Russia’s first moon mission in 47 years, Luna-25, ended in a crash on August 20. Roskosmos, the Russian space corporation, according to Reuters, said the spacecraft spun out of control and smashed into the moon. "The apparatus moved into an unpredictable orbit and ceased to exist as a result of a collision with the Moon," Reuters quoted Roskosmos. Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan was arrested during a court appearance in the capital Islamabad on May 09. The Cricketer-turned-politician was arrested in an Al-Qadir Trust graft by Pakistan Rangers. Security Expert Tilak Devasher called the arrest of Imran Khan “An important development in Pakistan”. On the other hand, reacting to the PTI Chief arrest, Defence Expert Qamar Agha mentioned it ‘Army’s big plan’. Meanwhile, Defence Expert SP Sinha alleged that Asim Munir has done this work with Shehbaz Sharif. Imran Khan, who was facing corruption charges in the Toshakhana case, was arrested from outside the Islamabad High Court by Rangers.
