Elections 2024: Nirmala Sitharaman Casts Vote, Shares Views On Inheritance Tax

Voting for the Second phase of 2024 Lok Sabha Elections has begun on April 26 and will go on till 6 pm today. India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman cast her vote in Bengaluru.  After casting her vote, she motivated other Indian to come and cast their votes.  Sitharaman expressed her satisfaction at the early turnout and emphasized the importance of stable governance, good policies, progress, and development. Sitharaman also shred her views on property tax and inheritance tax. She mentioned that such measures would adversely affect the middle class and aspirational individuals. 55th Human Rights Council: "Terrorism is unacceptable" EAM Jaishankar

The 55th session of Human Rights Council was attended by External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar. He highlighted the ongoing situation in war-torn Gaza. He said that terrorism and hostage-taking are unacceptable. On top of that, Dr Jaishankar said, “I assure you of my delegation’s full support and cooperation to you, the office of the High Commissioner, and all mechanisms of the Council. India remains committed to working with Council members and observers for the promotion and protection of all human rights. India's approach to Human Rights is rooted in our democratic principles and pluralistic approach.”

Now, A Maldivian MP Meekail Naseem requested Parliament to summon Foreign Minister for questioning regarding derogatory remarks against PM Modi. Amid the India, Maldives tourism diplomatic row, Israel announced that it will start the desalination programme in the Lakshadweep. The diplomatic row started after PM Modi shared his experiences from Lakshadweep and thanked the people of the islands. Photos of PM Modi snorkeling, walking on white sand, and resting on a virgin beach have gone viral. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s post on social media has promoted a massive surge in Google searches.

Jaishankar’s Russia Visit: EAM Jaishankar's latest post goes viral

From his ‘charismatic’ personality to his bold statements, EAM Jaishankar often rules the internet. This time EAM Jaishankar broke the internet with his latest post on platform X during Jaishankar’s Russia visit. He shared two images, one of an entry pass from 1962 and another picture of 2023 at the Red Square. EAM Jaishankar shared a nostalgic moment from the past and captioned the post, “How it started”, “How it is going”. The entry pass was from 1962 which invited him to a commemoration ceremony of the first Russian cosmonauts in space. Notably, Jaishankar's first posting as an IFS officer was at the Indian Embassy in Moscow in 1978. EAM Jaishankar is on a four-day visit to Russia from Dec 25 to Dec 29 where he is scheduled to meet his Russian Counterpart.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar addressed the India-Japan Forum 2023 with his Japanese Counterpart in New Delhi on July 28. During the question-answer session, EAM was asked to dance with Japanese FM on the iconic ‘Naatu Naatu’ from RRR. To this, EAM S Jaishankar jokingly said that he would not dance with Japan’s Foreign Minister. Both Jaishankar and Hayashi were asked about their favourite movies from each other’s countries. To this, Hayashi said that he loves the movie RRR. Then he was asked to dance with Dr S Jaishankar. Reacting to it, EAM Jaishankar jokingly said that he would not dance with him (Yoshimasa Hayashi).
