Bollywood Fraternity Urges CM Yogi To Stop ‘Boycott Bollywood’ Trend

On Thursday, actor Suniel Shetty met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Mumbai to talk about film opportunities in Uttar Pradesh's upcoming Film City. During the discussion, the actor also mentioned about anti-Bollywood trends on social media and reportedly sought help from the UP CM. He also assured him that people of the industry ‘don’t do drugs, or wrong work.' uniel Shetty took the opportunity to share how audience can be encouraged to go to theatres. The actor called the hashtag ‘Boycott Bollywood’ alarming and was quoted by Indian Express saying, “The hashtag that’s going on, Boycott Bollywood, yeh ruk bhi sakta hai aapke kehne se (it can stop if you say). Several other actors also talked about the issue and brought this up while meeting CM Yogi Adityanath.

CM Yogi Meets Bollywood Fraternity, Presents UP As ‘Film-Friendly’ State

Presenting Uttar Pradesh as a film-friendly state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday invited prominent members from the entertainment industry to explore his state as a film-making destination. Interacting with members of Bollywood here, the chief minister said, ''We have made two of your film fraternity members as MPs and we know the issues you face and what needs to be done. Cinema plays a crucial role in uniting the society and preserving the unity and sovereignty of the country." Adityanath, who is visiting Mumbai to promote an investor summit to be held in Lucknow next month, said Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a film-friendly state and this has been recognised at the National Film Awards and the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
