Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on March 11 blasted out on Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi over Electoral Bonds. Kharge claimed that PM Modi wants to hide his party’s dark deeds. “SBI asking for 4 months to provide the data of electoral bonds proves that the Modi government is trying to cover up its dark deeds… If SBI has the data then bring out the list, then why hide it? Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, while addressing in Lok Sabha, fired salvos at TMC MP Mahua Moitra for ‘Tamasha’ over Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) fund. Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti accused the TMC of playing politics. She said that she was a saint and suggested the Opposition had been punished for making false allegations. The Parliament Winter Session 2023 is slated to take place from December 4 to December 22; it is an important occasion for the government to move important laws and deal with urgent matters of national concern. The government has selected nineteen legislation that cover a variety of important topics to be discussed during the session.

TMC leaders including Mahua Moitra were detained after sitting on dharna at Krishi Bhawan. The Trinamool Congress had scheduled a meeting with the minister at the Krishi Bhavan, regarding the party's demand to release funds to West Bengal under the MGNREGA. Minister of State for Rural Development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti on Tuesday claimed that she waited for Trinamool Congress MPs in her office for over two hours. However, Trinamool Congress leaders claimed that Union minister had given them an appointment but did not meet them. The TMC delegation then sat on dharna, saying they won’t leave without meeting the minister. After some time, the delegation was forcibly removed from the site and detained.

Raids at different premises allegedly linked to NewsClick are underway at over 30 locations by Delhi Police. NewsClick journalists were seen with Delhi Police Special Cell officials. However, no arrest has been made as of now. Documents and electronics belonging to the persons associated with NewsClick were seized. Delhi High Court, on Aug 22, issued notice to NewsClick's Editor-in-Chief Prabir Purkayastha on a plea filed by Delhi Police's EOW. According to the FIR, a case was registered under UAPA and other IPC sections and an investigation was launched. During the probe, the sleuths gathered evidence indicating criminal acts. FIR states that accused persons, in conspiracy with their accomplices based abroad, devised a deceitful scheme to obtain, and receive funds. As per the same FIR, these funds were used to undertake activities as per instructions received from their foreign-based benefactors. Earlier, ED also moved the Delhi High Court against NewsClick and its editor-in-chief through a fresh application. ED’s application stated that it was a case of grave criminal conspiracy for paid news. Mumbai Police officials reached activist Teesta Setalvad's residence in the same matter. Union I&B Minister Anurag Thakur reacted to the same and said, “search agencies are free to carry out investigations against wrongdoers”.

The BJP today unleashed an attack on the Congress and Rahul Gandhi in Parliament, alleging Chinese funding of the party a day after an explosive New York Times report claimed that media portal Newsclick, financed by tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham, was pushing China’s agenda. It also accused the Congress of defending Newsclick during an investigation by the Enforcement Directorate in 2021 into its funding. He alleged that China had bailed Congress out on multiple occasions between 2005 and 2015. Earlier on Monday, union minister for information and technology Anurag Thakur alleged that Congress, China and NewsClick are part of an umbilical cord.
