Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India Nitin Gadkari on April 02 kick-started his election campaign in Nagpur. The BJP candidate from Nagpur constituency held a road show in South-West region of the city and received a warm welcome from the residents. Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis joined the Union Minister during his road-show ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The city of Nagpur is scheduled to hold the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Arpil 19 during the first phase. "People are welcoming me with enthusiasm. I have never done politics of caste and communalism. I consider Nagpur as my family and the people of Nagpur also consider me as their own," said Nitin Gadkari. Watch video.

On his nomination from the Nagpur constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Exuded confidence and said that he is 101 per cent sure that he is going to win e polls with a good margin. Speaking further, he said that all-round development of Nagpur-Vidarbha has been his pledge since the beginning of his political career. "As far as the victory is concerned, I am 101% confident that I will win with a good margin in any situation...I believe that I will win with more than a 5 lakh margin. India's road network has grown 59 per cent to become the second largest in the world as part of the development work carried out by the government in the last nine years, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said. India has nearly 64 lakh km of total road network, which is the second largest in the world. India's National Highways network alone stood at 1,45,240 km today compared to 91,287 km in 2013-14, the Road, Transport and Highways Minister said. He was addressing a conference on '9 Years of the Modi Government' in the national capital.
