Maratha Reservation Rally: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil on Saturday in Navi Mumbai's Vashi where he and thousands of protestors were camping seeking reservations for the community. Jarange, who had begun his fast on Friday, was fed a glass of juice by CM Shinde as a mark of him ending his hunger strike. Jarange had stopped at the outskirts of Mumbai on Friday and presented new demands. The government engaged in talks with him late last night. Both CM Shinde and Jarange paid homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue at the campsite before the latter ended his fast. The excitement among the protestors was palpable who cheered on Jarange and CM Shinde for agreeing to their demands, stated reports. The protestors dubbed it as a historic moment.

An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) tried to intimidate officials from Navghar Police station (Mulund) after his son was hauled up for having tinted glass on his car windows. As the Mumbai traffic police swing into action over tinted glass on car windows, a young man was caught yesterday afternoon with tinted car windows. He argued vehemently with the police, even calling them biased for catching him and not others. When he was brought to the police station, it was found that he was the son of an ACP. He called his father to the police station and the senior official, shockingly, instead of reprimanding his son for abusive behaviour, tried to bully the local police, who made a station dairy against the ACP. The Central Railways has introduced a see-through Vistadome coach in the Dadar-Madgaon Jan Shatabdi Express on the Mumbai-Goa route. The coach is equipped with LCDs and rotating chairs to deliver a superior experience for the passengers. The upgradation is first of its kind on the Mumbai-Goa track, which will give the passengers a better sightseeing experience while being seated on an aesthetically designed coach.
