Delhi Excise Policy Case: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal granted bail

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal appeared before Rouse Avenue Court in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case on March 16. He appeared before ACMM Divya Malhotra following the summons issued to him by the court. The court granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal on a bail bond of Rs 15,000 and a surety of Rs 1 lakh. Rouse Avenue Court issued the summons based on two ED complaints in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case. Earlier, Rouse Avenue Court on Mar 15 refused to stay the summons issued to Delhi CM on complaints filed by ED.

On Tuesday, 17 October 2023, a five-judge Supreme Court (SC) bench refused to grant legal recognition to same-sex marriages. The bench had assembled to pronounce verdicts on pleas seeking legal validation for same-sex marriage. Supreme Court Bar Association president Adish Aggarwala while talking to the media, said, "I welcome the decision of the Supreme Court where they have not allowed same-sex marriage".
