Supreme Court of India praises India’s growing economy as robust

The Supreme Court praised the growing Indian economy as robust and recognised in the world. The Supreme Court’s observation came while hearing the suit filed by Kerala Government against Centre. The Kerala Govt accused the Centre of not allowing it to borrow more money to meet its needs. Justices Surya Kant, KV Vishwanathan were hearing Kerala Govt’s plea raising the grave financial crisis. The Supreme Court remarked that India's economy is robust and is recognised in the entire world. Notably, India is currently the fifth largest economy of the world and visions to become the third largest soon. PM Modi has exuded confidence in returning to power and making the nation third-largest economy. External Affairs Minister also recently said that the country will soon move to grab the third position.

With the rising demand, Lavender cultivation across Jammu and Kashmir has amplified. Hundreds of farmers are shifting to lavender cultivation in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir which has proved very profitable. Farmers traditionally in J&K grew cereals such as maize, rice and millet which didn’t provide great returns but after lavender cultivation, their earnings have gone up several times. The Kashmiri unemployed youth has also started practising lavender farming as it helps to generate revenue at a high level and they are happy with farming of unconventional aromatic plants. Jammu and Kashmir’s lavender cultivation is changing their fortunes.

Uzair Younus, a noted Pakistani policy expert, in a podcast, shared his experience of his recent visit to India. In the podcast channel, ‘Pakistan Experience’, Younus said that he was surprised by looking at the digital footprint in India. The Pakistani expert further added that his India visit felt like “visiting a future state for him”. Uzair Younus is the director of Pakistan Initiative at the Atlantic Council's South Asia Center. Uzair Younus was impressed by a betel shop owner who was offering QR code scanner to his customers. The Pak analyst further lambasted Pakistan for choosing politics over development. Farm of our own

Students at various colleges in Mumbai, have taken up a new project growing organic veggies on their campus. Harvesting garlic, basil, spinach, lettuce and herbs etc, and plants with medicinal value, the students use wet waste from their canteens to convert it into bacterial compost. This is then used as soil. Students are now hopeful that they can expand their organic farming project to larger spaces.
