International Kite Festival organised in Ahmedabad on January 07. People from 56 countries across the world participated in the kite festival. It was inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The Kite featuring Ayodhya’s Ram Temple captured the attention of the people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 17 held a thunderous roadshow in Gujarat’s Surat. A large number of people gathered to get glimpses of PM Modi. PM Modi in Gujarat earlier inaugurated the new Integrated Terminal Building of Surat Airport in Surat. He also inaugurated the Surat Diamond Bourse, the world’s largest and modern centre for international diamond and jewellery business. Encompassing 4,500 offices for national and international traders, the bourse aims to promote Surat’s thriving diamond industry. Built at a cost of about Rs 3000 crore, Surat Diamond Bourse can accommodate 65,000 diamond professionals. The bourse is now attracting bigwigs of the diamond industry from across the country.

The Surat Diamond Bourse will be a global centre for trading both rough and polished diamonds as well as jewellery. The bourse will comprise a state-of-the-art ‘Customs Clearance House’ for Import –Export. Other than that, it will have a jewellery mall for retail jewellery business and a facility for International Banking. The bourse is larger than Pentagon, which has been the largest office in the world. Encompassing 4,500 offices for national and international traders, the bourse aims to promote Surat’s thriving diamond industry. Established in 1976 in the Bhal region of Saurashtra, the Blackbuck National Park is spread over an area of 34.08 km. Flat land, dry grasses, and herds of antelope have always attracted visitors to this park which has a grassland ecosystem. Successful conservation programs for the blackbuck, wolf, and lesser florican (a bustard) are ongoing. Several species of mammals have been recorded from the National Park, apart from large groups of Blackbuck such as Indian Wolf, Striped Hyena, Indian Fox, Golden Jackal, and Jungle cat. Apart from these, several species of grassland birds such as Sandgrouse, Lark, and passerines are also abundant in the Park giving a boost to Gujarat tourism.

A yoga event in Gujarat’s Surat has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people for the yoga session. Over one lakh people took part in the Yoga event in Surat. The celebration witnessed the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who joined the state-level International Day of Yoga commemoration. Meanwhile, several union ministers participated in yoga sessions along with the locals in their respective cities. From Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, several Union Ministers started their day with their health being their priority on International Yoga Day. Along with Defence and Railways Ministers, Commerce, Education, and Sports Ministers also performed Yoga today. Amid all this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on an Official State visit, will be participating in a Yoga session that will be held at the UN HQ in the US.
