The 14th Dalai Lama, on Wednesday, said the only way to deal with the Indo-China Doklam Standoff is friendship between the two nations. Without naming China, he also said he does not like nations where there is no freedom; further adding that freedom in India allows him to share more opportunities. Adding a blot to the medical facilities of the country, a pregnant woman of Odisha's Lanjigarh had to be carried to the hospital in a sling for 16 kilometers to reach an ambulance. The roads of the village were blocked due to which the kin of the family had to carry the woman. In the captured video the woman can be seen being crossed across through uneven roads and riverlet to reach the hospital where her baby was delivered.
The Imphal East district police have seized a huge consignment of heroin worth over Rs. 28 lakh and arrested two drug peddlers.The drive was conducted in the Mantripukhri area in Imphal where a Santro car was caught carrying 250 grams of heroin as informed by the police official.The drugs were reportedly seized from 26-year-old B. Krishna and Solim Letkhongam from Tengnoupal district of Imphal.
The Uttarakhand Police have rescued several ‘kaanwariyas’ from drowning into the Ganga River in Haridwar. People participating in annual ‘kanwar festival’ often drown into the river while bathing and taking pictures. Haridwar Senior Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar VK informed mediapersons that around 36 people were saved in the rescue operation. Various teams are stationed in Haridwar for the safety and security of kaanwariyas’. ‘Kanwariyas’ are devotees of lord Shiva who participate in annual pilgrimage called ‘kanwar yatra’. The pilgrims travel to Hindu pilgrimage places of Haridwar, Gaumukh and Gangotri in Uttarakhand and Sultanganj in Bihar to fetch holy water of Ganga River.
