Bengaluru cafe blast: 2 suspects who planted bomb in Rameshwaram Cafe arrested

In a big win for NIA, two suspects of the Rameshwaram Café blast were nabbed from Kolkata on April 12. Mussavir Hussain Shazib, Abdul Matheen Taha were allegedly involved in Rameshwaram Café blast. Mussavir Hussain Shazib is accused of planting the IED inside the Rameshwaram Café. On the other hand, Abdul Matheen Taha is said to be the mastermind of the attack. The NIA had declared rewards of Rs 10 lakh on each of the absconders. NIA, Central Agencies and police force of several states worked together to nab the accused. The cafe in Bengaluru's Whitefield area was jolted by a low-intensity blast on March 1. The case was handed over to the NIA on March 3, following the NIA team’s visit to the blast site. She provided insights into the current situation in Taiwan post-earthquake and elaborated on the responses from both Indian authorities in Taiwan and the Indian community. S Jaishankar hits out at Nehru Led Government

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar addressed the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ahmedabad on April 02. While addressing the event, the External Affairs Minister categorically spoke about the India-China issues. He further hit out at India’s first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru-led government and alleged that they made policies that favoured China more than India itself.  External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar said, "In 1950, there was an exchange of views between Sardar Patel and (Jawaharlal) Nehru... Sardar Patel had warned Jawaharlal Nehru about China. Sardar Patel said that today we are facing a situation of two fronts (Pakistan and China), which for India has never happened in our history before. Sardar Patel also said that whatever the Chinese are saying, he feels that their intent is not good, and therefore, let us take precautions, and build a policy around this. Nehru's position was that he was completely dissenting. He replied to Patel that you are unnecessarily suspicious of the Chinese... Also, it is impossible for anybody to attack us across the Himalayas".

Taiwan Earthquake: Earthquake of 7.2 magnitude hits Taiwan

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2 jolted Taiwan’s eastern coasts on April 03. The 7.2 magnitude earthquake knocked out power services in parts of Taiwan. It also sparked tsunami warnings for the southern part of Japan and the Philippines. Due to the quake, metro systems in Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung were suspended. Several buildings collapsed near the eastern county of Hualien, near the epicenter. As per Taiwan’s weather forecast agency, quake hit at a depth of 15.5 km off the eastern coast of Taiwan. Quoting Taiwan’s state media, Reuters reported that it was the strongest quake to hit the island in 25 years. Meanwhile, Japan issued an evacuation advisory for the coastal areas of the southern prefecture of Okinawa. Tsunami waves of up to 3 meters were expected to reach large areas of Japan's southwestern coast.
