India’s Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar's life-sized statue was unveiled at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 01. The life-size statue of Tendulkar, a 200-Test veteran, was unveiled on the eve of the India-Sri Lanka ICC World Cup 2023 encounter. The statue is dedicated to 50 years of Tendulkar’s life and has been installed by MCA near Sachin Tendulkar Stand at the stadium. Along with Tendulkar, his wife and Anjali and daughter Sara were also present for the function. The event was also attended by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, Congress leader Sharad Pawar, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and treasurer Ashish Shelar. Sachin is considered as the greatest batter to have played the game. He holds the record for having the most runs and centuries scored in both ODI and Test Cricket.

69th National Film Awards: On October 17th, 2023, a ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi, where the National Award winners were felicitated by none other than President Droupadi Murmu. The winners were previously announced at a press conference for the 69th National Film Awards in August. A total of 280 feature films from 28 languages and 158 non-feature films in 23 languages were submitted to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for National Award consideration. Alia Bhatt, who won the award for Best Actress for her performance in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi,' arrived at the venue wearing her wedding saree. Allu Arjun, who became the first actor from the Telugu film industry to win a National Award in the Best Actor category for the superhit film 'Pushpa' While Kriti Sanon shared the National Award for Best Actress with Alia Bhatt for her brilliant performance in 'Mimi,'. Versatile actor Pankaj Tripathi received the award in the category of Best Supporting Actor for his role in 'Mimi.' President Murmu visited Presidential Palace in Paramaribo, Suriname on June 05. She received a warm welcome from the Suriname President Chandrikapersad Santokhi. India and Suriname exchanged four MoUs in various fields including health and agriculture. Special covers of stamps to mark 150 years of arrival of Indians in Suriname were presented to President Murmu. Prez Murmu symbolically presented a box of medicines to Prez Santokhi as a token of India’s donation of emergency medicines to Suriname.
