Sudarshan Setu: Watch spectacular drone visuals of India’s longest cable-stayed

‘Sudarshan Setu’, India’s longest cable-stayed bridge in Gujarat was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 25. The Okha-Beyt Dwarka Signature Bridge, also called the Sudarshan Setu spanning 2.5 kilometres, holds immense significance for both residents and pilgrims visiting the revered Dwarkadhish Temple. Initiated by the Centre in 2017 with a groundbreaking ceremony, the bridge aims to simplify access for devotees commuting between Okha and Bet Dwarka. Before its construction, pilgrims had to rely on boat transport to reach the Dwarkadhish Temple in Beyt, Dwarka. The 2.5 km bridge has been built for Rs 978 crore which is set to give a major infrastructure boost in the region.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 25 reached his home state Gujarat. He offered prayers at Beyt Dwarka Temple. After offering prayers at the temple, Prime Minister inaugurated the Sudarshan Setu in Dwarka. It is the longest cable-stayed bridge of the country that has been constructed at the cost of ₹ 979 crore. The bridge, spanning 2.5 kilometres, holds immense significance for both residents and pilgrims visiting the revered Dwarkadhish Temple. Beyt Dwarka is an island near Okha port, which is nearly 30 km from Dwarka town, where the famous Dwarkadhish temple of Lord Krishna is situated. Sudarshan Setu: PM Modi to dedicate longest cable-stayed bridge to nation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate Sudarshan Setu to the nation which will connect Okha mainland to Beyt Dwarka island. It is built at a cost of around Rs 980 crores. It is the longest Cable-stayed bridge in the country of around 2.32 km. Sudarshan Setu boasts a unique design, featuring a footpath adorned with verses from Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and images of Bhagwan Krishna on both sides. It also has solar panels installed on the upper portions of the footpath, generating one megawatt of electricity. This bridge will ease the transportation and significantly reduce the time of devotees travelling between Dwarka and Beyt-Dwarka. Before the bridge’s construction, pilgrims had to rely on boat transport to reach Beyt Dwarka. This iconic bridge will also serve as a major tourist attraction of Devbhumi Dwarka.

The cost of 108-foot-tall is estimated to be approximately million 440 Dirham. Foundation stone for the temple was laid by PM Modi in 2017. Built on 27 acres of land, the colossal structure can accommodate up to 10,000 people. The temple draws its inspiration from ‘lotus in the desert’. The temple boasts seven spires, each representing an emirate in UAE.

Independence Day 2023: ‘The Tricolour Of Unity’ inaugurated in J&K's Anantnag

A high-mast national flag at Tango Top in Anantnag has been inaugurated by the J&K Police along with the district administration to honour the nationalistic sentiments of the people of Anantnag ahead of the Independence Day 2023. The high-mast national flag, which is visible up to 10 kms in all directions, would become a landmark of South Kashmir. Brig Amandeep Malhi, VSM, Cdr 1 Sect RR along with DIGP South Kashmir Range Rayees Mohammad Bhat, IPS, hoisted the flag. The work for the installation of the flag started with effect from June 2023. Given the history of South Kashmir, this Tricolour would be a symbol of unity and peace and would be referred to as “The Tricolour of Unity”.
