Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has put India-Russia energy ties under fresh international scrutiny, calling on India, China and Turkey to stop energy trade with Russia as a way to pressure Moscow to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Speaking to The Wall Street Journal on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Zelenskyy argued that Russia depends heavily on energy sales to major buyers including India. He said cutting that trade could force Moscow to stop fighting.

A Pakistani security convoy was reportedly ambushed in Balochistan’s Nok-Kundi area, with claims emerging that seven Pakistani personnel were killed in the attack. Reports circulating from the area say five bodies have been recovered, while two reportedly remain at the attack site amid security concerns. The incident comes amid a fresh wave of violence across Balochistan, where the BLA has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting Pakistani security forces, military convoys and other state-linked targets. The group has claimed that 43 Pakistani military personnel and alleged state-backed militia members were killed in 13 operations carried out between September 7 and 13. These casualty figures have not been independently verified. The reported Nok-Kundi attack has also raised concerns over the recovery of the remaining bodies, with reports suggesting that an ambulance crew was reluctant to approach the site over fears of a possible second attack.
