Indian Army conducts Anti-Tank Guided Missile Firing in Sikkim

Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army conducted a training exercise, involving the firing of anti-tank guided missiles. The exercise was conducted at a super high-altitude area of 17,000 feet in Sikkim on April 12. Missile-firing detachments from mechanised and infantry units of the entire Eastern Command participated. The exercise encompassed comprehensive continuity training and live firing from different platforms. It included moving as well as static targets which depicted actual battlefield conditions for the commandos. The ATGM system's performance in high-altitude environments reaffirms the aim of 'Ek Missile Ek Tank'.

Watch Former Pakistan diplomat’s advice to govt to improve ties with India

Former Pakistani diplomat Husain Haqqani has given advice to Pak government to improve relations with India. In a post on X, Haqqani wrote about the attacks that had been carried out against India. He addressed the people complaining about India’s hardening attitude towards Pakistan. Haqqani reminded them of Kargil War, Kashmir insurgency, attack on Indian Parliament, and horrors of 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Former Pak Ambassador to US, Husain advised Pakistan to ‘accept’ the results to make dialogue honest with India. “Some in Pakistan are complaining about hardening Indian attitudes towards Pakistan. It is result of Kashmir insurgency (1989-2019), Kargil (1999), Parliament attack (2001), Mumbai terror attack (2008), & much more. Accepting that might make dialogue honest & easier,” Husain Haqqani wrote in a post on X. Both the nuclear-armed countries have fought three wars since independence from Britain in 1947. On several instances, like Mumbai attacks, 2001 Parliament attack, the ties between the two nations have worsened. Also, the Kashmir conflict and Pakistan’s continuous terror-sponsoring have fueled enmity between the countries.

Apache Attack Helicopters deployed in Jodhpur near Pakistan by Indian Army

The Indian Army has decided to bolster its combat capabilities near the Pakistan border in the western desert. In that series, six Apache attack helicopters will be deployed near international borders at a military station in Jodhpur. The Indian Air Force already has a fleet of 22 Apache helicopters deployed at both western and northern borders. The American attack helicopters were deployed in the eastern Ladakh sector soon after the Chinese aggression started in 2020. The original equipment manufacturer Boeing announced in August last year that it had started the production of Apache Helicopters for the Indian Army at its state-of-art facility in the US. The production process builds upon an ongoing collaboration with Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL) which plays a pivotal role in the manufacturing of AH-64E fuselages at its cutting-edge facility in Hyderabad.

J&K Terror Attack: Terrorists open fire at a retired police offering prayers

Another terrorist attack in Jammu & Kashmir’s Baramulla has jolted the valley. Some terrorists on Dec 24 opened fire at a retired police officer at Gantmulla in Baramulla. Notably, this J&K terror attack happened a day after an attack on two military vehicles in Rajouri sector which claimed lives of four soldiers. The slain former police officer was identified as Mohd. Shafi, according to Jammu and Kashmir Police. Terrorists opened fire on the retired police officer while he was offering prayers at a mosque, the police added. The area was cordoned off in the immediate aftermath of the incident, officials said. Meanwhile, additional security forces have been deployed in the Bafliaz area of Poonch district. An operation is underway to nab terrorists in the forest area of Dera ki Gali in the Rajouri sector. Indian Army said that it was conducting an inquiry into the deaths of three civilians in the Poonch-Rajouri sector in the terror attack on Dec 21.

In a major terror attack, terrorists ambushed an army convoy in J&K’s Rajouri on Dec 21. Four army personnel were killed in action while three others were injured in the terror attack. The terrorists ambushed two army vehicles carrying troops in Thanamandi, Rajouri. The fierce encounter broke out on Dec 21 after a joint search operation was launched on Dec 20 by security forces. Meanwhile, security personnel carried out a search operation in the forest area of Dera ki Gali in Rajouri on Dec 22. Indian Army is using choppers to keep eagles' eye on the rough terrain. Indian Army's White Knight Corps said it salutes the bravery and supreme sacrifice of four soldiers.
