Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the next phase of India-Indonesia relations as the beginning of a "golden chapter" for the 21st century following wide-ranging talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and a series of major bilateral announcements. In a diplomatic milestone, President Prabowo conferred Indonesia's highest civilian honour upon Prime Minister Modi, recognising his exceptional contribution to strengthening the historic partnership between the two nations. Modi said the prestigious award is not just a personal honour but a reflection of the deep-rooted friendship and shared civilisational ties between the people of India and Indonesia. The two leaders agreed to significantly expand cooperation across defence, maritime security, healthcare, trade, investment, connectivity and emerging strategic sectors. Both countries also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership through closer collaboration on regional security, economic growth and technological innovation.
