The US would welcome any country interested in using its voice to further deter the Russian offensive in Ukraine and play a positive role in helping release hostages and defeating Hamas amid the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, US State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said at a press briefing on April 18. Asked how the US and the international community can use Prime Minister Narendra Modi's influence to end the ongoing war worldwide, Patel said, “Specifically, first in the context of Russia-Ukraine, if any country is interested in using its voice to further deter Russian aggression on the people of Ukraine, we certainly would welcome that and in the current ongoing context in Gaza, any country that believes that they can play a positive role in helping us get to a release of hostages, helping us get additional humanitarian assistance into Gaza, and helping to defeat Gaza, they certainly should and are welcome to play that role.”

Ahead of the Mizoram Assembly election 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that BJP has worked in connecting Delhi to the Northeast states and that Mizoram has the potential to become a global tourist hub. He also said “When infrastructure improves, it helps trade, talent and tourism. Infrastructure brings investment, industries, and income, and also creates opportunities. During one of my earlier visits to Mizoram, I had promised to work for transformation by transportation, since then a revolution has happened across sectors due to the work of the BJP-led government... Till 2013-14, the total length of National Highways in the Northeast was 11,000 km, we increased it to 16,000 kms in 2023-23...". The Mizoram Assembly election is scheduled to be held from 13 October 2023 to 5 December 2023.
