Indonesia has extended the search for 126 people still missing after the Virgo Transport 8 ferry sank in the Java Sea. Nine people have died, while divers are being sent to the wreck. Authorities will continue the operation for seven more days as salvage plans are discussed.

The vessel departed from Surabaya, East Java, for Makassar on Sulawesi Island on Sunday morning, according to the Surabaya Search and Rescue Office.
