India has hit back hard at Pakistan over its latest announcement on Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar. Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency has listed Azhar in its 2026 Red Book of most-wanted high-profile terrorists and raised the reward for information leading to his arrest to PKR 70 lakh. But India has dismissed the move as a “phoney” announcement, with MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal calling such actions “gimmicks and hoodwinking” and saying Pakistan needs to take concrete action against terrorism instead of making hollow announcements.
