A deadly Islamic State (ISIS) attack has struck U.S. forces stationed in central Syria, killing three Americans and injuring several others in a volatile region near Palmyra, according to U.S. Central Command. Officials confirm that two U.S. service members and one civilian interpreter were killed when a lone ISIS gunman opened fire on a military post operating outside full Syrian government control.
