The Kedarnath Yatra 2025 is set to begin amid devotion and celebrations. The Kedarnath Temple has been beautifully decorated with 13 quintals of fresh flowers ahead of the idol's arrival on Thursday. The temple doors will open to devotees on Friday at 7 am. Helicopter services have started from Sonprayag to make the journey easier for pilgrims. The temple opening marks the beginning of the Char Dham Yatra – one of the most sacred pilgrimages in India – to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Heavy rains have caused the Mandakini river to flood, washing away roads and electric poles in Sonprayag and Gaurikund, which are on the way to the Kedarnath Yatra Route. Since Wednesday evening, at least six people have died in rain-related incidents across Uttarakhand. Many pilgrims and tourists are now stranded on the Sonprayag-Kedarnath road due to the severe weather. Cloudbursts, landslides and other natural disasters have affected Kedarnath Yatra Route.
