A deadly cyclone wreaked havoc in parts of WB’s Jalpaiguri as rain and hailstorms hit area causing major damage to life and property. As many as five people have lost their lives over 100 got injured as weather’s wrath on March 31. JGMCH Medical Superintendent said that as many as 49 are admitted and over 170 patients reported in emergency department. Taking to ‘X’, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee assured supporting affected families and compensation to them. Iran’s military has reportedly killed a senior Jaish-al-Adl militant group commander and some of his companions. The armed clash happened inside Pakistan’s territory a month after two countries conducted airstrikes against each other. Notably, this is first such instance after the conclusion of the recent general elections in Pakistan. Formed in 2012, Jaish al-Adl is designated as a "terrorist" organization by Iran. It is a Sunni terrorist group that operates in Iran's southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan (Info Source- Al Arabiya News). The group has a history of carrying out attacks against the Iranian security forces. Weeks after the airstrikes were carried out, two nations mutually agreed to expand security cooperation. In recent times, this is the second such instance when Iran strikes Pakistan. On Jan 16, Iran had carried out airstrikes in Pakistan’s territory and then the latter withdrew its ambassador. On Jan 18, Pakistan retaliated and carried out airstrikes saying that it attacked ‘terrorist militant organisations’. Pakistan had said that they can resolve “misunderstandings” quickly but the recent strike depict the opposite.

Israel-Hamas conflict entered day 46. IDF drone killed 4 Hamas terrorists in Lebanon, reported The Times of Israel. This came shortly after IDF struck Lebanon-based Hezbollah on Nov 21, in its response to missile attacks from Lebanon in Northern Israel. As a part of high-scale retaliation, IDF continued wide-scale strikes on Hamas military targets in northern Gaza. In view of that, IDF pounded the hideouts of Hamas in the Gaza Strip on October 21. Meanwhile, on a separate front, IDF attacked across the Israel-Lebanon border at Hezbollah's targets. In IDF’s airstrike, Mabduh Shaalabi, a Hamas special naval forces operative involved in attacks against Israel was killed. Israel's high-scale retaliation is turning out to be a nightmare for Hamas as more than 1,000 terrorists have been neutralized. However, IDF on October 20 confirmed the release of two US citizens identified as Judith Tai Raanan, Natali Raanan. The American citizens have been handed over safely to the Israeli Troops.

In a tragic incident in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, a high-end speeding luxury car killed 9 people and injured atleast 10 after it rammed into the crowd at the accident spot. The accident took place on July 20th near the ISKCON temple on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway. The driver was hospitalised with injuries and will be arrested soon.
