While speaking to ANI, Madhavi Latha said, "We got the information that presiding officer caught a minor girl casting her vote... They are not registering an FIR. Amid the voting for the fourth phase of elections, the controversy has erupted over BJP candidate Madhavi Latha’s visit to the polling station in Hyderabad. Actually after casting the vote, Madhavi Latha made a surprise visit to the polling station and was seen verifying the identities of some Hyderabad women in ‘burqa’ at a polling station. On being asked about video where she is seen checking IDs of voters, Madhavi Latha says, "I am a candidate. As per law candidate has the right to check the ID cards without the facemasks. I am not a man, I am a woman and with a lot of humbleness, I have only requested them - can I please see and verify with the ID cards. If somebody wants to make a big issue out of it, that means they are scared."On the other hand, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy alleged that BJP is simply trying to polarise Muslim votes to win but all these issues are going to help Asaduddin Owaisi. While speaking to ANI, Revanth Reddy said, “I have not seen (the video) but BJP is simply trying to polarise Muslim votes to win but all these issues are going to help Asaduddin Owaisi. It is not going to benefit BJP."

"I don't understand how Asaduddin Owaisi became a barrister. He keeps talking about personal law. According to personal law, a 'Fatwa' is something that is to be obeyed by all... On April 17, BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Hyderabad constituency Madhavi Latha, criticized the Telangana government over police denying permission for Ram Navami Shobha Yatra of BJP MLA Raja Singh. Talking to the media, Madhavi Latha said that they gave permission for Ramadan celebrations but denied permission for Shobha Yatra citing Model Code of Conduct. “Ramadan was also during the time of election code. But they didn’t shut down masjids. Why they are not giving permission to Raja Singh. He holds Ram Navami Shobha Yatra from a very long time.
