Russia has launched one of its largest overnight attacks on Ukraine, firing more than 70 missiles—including a significant number of ballistic missiles—and over 280 attack drones across multiple regions. Ukrainian officials say at least eight people were killed, including two parents and three children in the Dnipropetrovsk region, while dozens of others were injured. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said more than 260 drones were intercepted but warned that Ukraine urgently needs additional anti-ballistic missile systems from its allies.

Russia launches a major overnight assault on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, firing 13 missiles and 151 drones, according to Ukrainian officials. Authorities report that at least two people are killed and six others are injured as explosions and fires erupt across multiple districts of the city. Ukraine says its air defence systems intercept or jam many of the incoming aerial threats, but falling debris damages residential buildings, warehouses, vehicles and critical infrastructure. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says this is the sixth ballistic missile attack on Kyiv in July and urges allies to speed up deliveries of additional air defence systems and missile interceptors.
