Talking about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “wealth distribution” remark, Chairman of Indian Overseas Congress, Sam Pitroda on April 24 explained that when Congress talks about redistributing wealth, it means new policies and new programs that are in the interest of the people and not in the interest of super-rich only. "...In America, there is an inheritance tax. If one has $100 million worth of wealth and when he dies he can only transfer probably 45% to his children, 55% is grabbed by the government. That's an interesting law. It says you in your generation, made wealth and you are leaving now, you must leave your wealth for the public, not all of it, half of it, which to me sounds fair. In India, you don't have that. If somebody is worth 10 billion and he dies, his children get 10 billion and the public gets nothing...So these are the kind of issues people will have to debate and discuss. I don't know what the conclusion would be at the end of the day but when we talk about redistributing wealth, we are talking about new policies and new programs that are in the interest of the people and not in the interest of super-rich only," said Sam Pitroda.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on April 16 gave a stern warning to the Bishnoi gang and the accused over the firing incident at Salman Khan’s house and said that he will uproot all gangs and goons from Mahrashtra. On the firing incident outside actor Salman Khan's residence on April 14, CM Eknath Shinde said, "I met with Salman Khan and assured him the government is with him. I also directed the police team to take immediate action on this and in that path two of the accused have been arrested... This is Maharashtra, no gang is left here... We will uproot all the gangs and goons...Here hooliganism will not be allowed to continue... The accused arrested are being interrogated... Strict actions will be taken. I have also directed the Police Commissioner to provide security for Salman Khan and his family... It is our duty to take care of our people... I don't want to comment on what happened in the past government, but we will uproot all the gangs and goons who will try to harm any person of the state..."

After the Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility behind the firing at superstar Salman Khan's Mumbai residence, Rakhi Sawant, who shares a close rapport with the actor, came out in his support and pleaded for his life to be spared. In a video shared on social media, Rakhi, who has been a constant on the reality show 'Bigg Boss' was seen breaking down on camera. In regards to the Salman Khan house firing case, two men who were captured on CCTV firing gunshots outside the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan in Mumbai on Sunday are suspected to be from Haryana's Gurugram and belong to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang. One of the individuals, identified as Vishal, is reportedly associated with the notorious Bishnoi gang member Rohit Godara, known for his involvement in a string of violent crimes. CCTV footage revealed that both individuals sported caps and carried backpacks. Additionally, the clip showed them firing towards the actor's residence. One of the suspects donned a white t-shirt paired with a black jacket and denim pants, while the other was attired in a red t-shirt with denim pants. Khan had in the past received at least two threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang. The gang has been targeting the actor because of his alleged involvement in the 1998 blackbuck killing case in Rajasthan.

Over 600 lawyers have written a letter to CJI DY Chandrachud expressing concerns against a “vested interest group”. Lawyers expressed serious concerns against the actions of a specific interest group aiming to undermine the judiciary's integrity. Reacting to lawyers’ concerns, PM Modi on March 28 took a dig at INC saying that “bullying others is vintage Congress culture”. Notably, the letter has been signed by top lawyers including senior advocate Harish Salve, SC Bar Association Prez Adish Aggarwala. As per lawyers, the group is putting pressure tactics to influence judicial outcomes, particularly in cases involving political figures.

Rahul Gandhi has drawn a parallel between ‘Agniveer’ scheme to contractual labourers. Panic buying of fuel in Mumbai and other cities across India is being witnessed amid fear of supply shortage. A few petrol pumps in Mumbai are even running dry as a result. This is a consequence of truck and bus drivers protest against the new hit and run law that punishes negligent driving. This new law provides up to 10 years of punishment for fleeing an accident spot without reporting the incident. But the truck drivers say this law is one-sided and harsh on them. The strike going forward is likely to impact the supplies of essential fruits and vegetables and hit the common man.
