The BJP has proposed a dedicated Northeast species enclosure at Mumbai's Byculla zoo, featuring animals such as the Clouded Leopard, Red Panda, Hoolock Gibbon and Binturong. The plan also suggests using the zoo's 3D theatre for wildlife documentaries to generate revenue

The organisations stated that the park plays a major role in maintaining biodiversity, water resources, wildlife habitats and ecological balance in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region amid rising urbanisation, pollution and climate change
