Congress’ Secretary In-Charge of Himachal Pradesh Tajinder Singh Bittu, ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 resigned primary leadership of the party on April 20. Hours after resigning, ex-Congress leader joined Bharatiya Janata Party at party headquarters in Delhi. Tajinder Singh Bittu joined BJP in the presence of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and party General Secretary Vinod Tawde.

In a big win for NIA, two suspects of the Rameshwaram Café blast were nabbed from Kolkata on April 12. Mussavir Hussain Shazib, Abdul Matheen Taha were allegedly involved in Rameshwaram Café blast. Mussavir Hussain Shazib is accused of planting the IED inside the Rameshwaram Café. On the other hand, Abdul Matheen Taha is said to be the mastermind of the attack. The NIA had declared rewards of Rs 10 lakh on each of the absconders. NIA, Central Agencies and police force of several states worked together to nab the accused. The cafe in Bengaluru's Whitefield area was jolted by a low-intensity blast on March 1. The case was handed over to the NIA on March 3, following the NIA team’s visit to the blast site. Watch video.

A massive explosion took place at Rameshwaram Cafe in Brookfield in East Bengaluru on 1st of March. The Bengaluru police and fire brigade rushed to the popular cafe after receiving a call about the explosion. The blast occurred during the lunch time between 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm. Reportedly, 4 people have been injured in the blast. Shattered glass and furniture were seen strewn on the floor of the cafe, which is a big draw among residents. The area was secured by Police and Fire Brigade teams and the injured were hospitalised. Police have begun an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the blast.

The pre-wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and fiancee Radhika Merchant started with Anna Seva on 28th February in Gujarat's Jamnagar. Mukesh Ambani, Anant Ambani and other members of the Ambani family, along with Radhika Merchant, served traditional Gujarati food to the villagers. At least 11 people have been killed while over 60 others were injured after a massive fire broke out inside a firecracker factory in Madhya Pradesh’s Harda leading to several explosions, and triggering panic among locals in the nearby areas. Addressing the people, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that over 50 ambulances were sent to the spot and Minister Ranvendra Pratap Singh, DG Home and around 400 police officials also went to the accident site. The chief minister also announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 4 lakh for the families of the deceased while the injured will be given free treatment. PM Modi announced that Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased and the injured will be given Rs 50,000.
