Slamming Congress, UP CM said that the people who are rejecting EVMs today are the same people who used to loot ballots. Speaking to ANI, he said, “Whenever Congress, Samajwadi Party, or any other party associated with the INDI alliance is losing elections, they make every effort to blame the defeat on EVMs. This is not the first time; we have been hearing this continuously since 2014. We want to ask these people that the Congress government formed in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka last year, whether it was formed based on ballot paper? In 2009, the UPA government was formed at the Centre, was it made of ballot paper? In 2004, the UPA government was formed in the country, and in 2018, the Congress government was formed in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, the AAP government was formed in Delhi, was it made of ballot paper?”

Before the advent of EVMs, voters cast their votes by marking their choices on paper ballots. These ballots were then placed in sealed ballot boxes. Counting paper ballots was a time-consuming process, often requiring days or even weeks to tally the votes accurately. Additionally, there were concerns about ballot stuffing, tampering, and errors in counting. Ther's a lot of political crisis going on in Hiamchal Pradesh right now. Six Congress MLAs who cross voted in favour of the Bhartiya Janta Party during the Rajya Sabha election, have been disqualified by Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania. The detained MLA's include Rajinder Rana, Sudhir Sharma, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, Devinder Kumar Bhutoo, Ravi Thakur, and Chetanya Sharma. With the six rebel MLAs disqualified the strength of the house comes down from 68 to 62 and the halfway mark is 32. With the loss of 6 MLAs the Congress now has 34 MLAs and the BJP with independents has 28. The fortunes of the Congress will now rest on its ability to keep the rest of its flock together.

A big diplomatic win for India; 8 of the former Navy officials were freed by Qatar on February 12. Former Navy men were accused of allegedly spying on a submarine programme and were sentenced to Qatar Death penalty. Meanwhile, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor congratulated those who worked behind the scenes for their release. Seven of the total eight former Indian Navy personnel returned home from Qatar on February 12. The capital punishment was later commuted to an extended prison term following diplomatic intervention by MEA. Days after French President visited India, Emmanuel Macron on February 04 hailed India.
