Karnataka decided to rollback its order banning manufacture and sale of Nestle Maggi noodles in the state. The nationwide ban on Maggi was imposed after local regulators reported in May that some packets of the noodles contained unsafe levels of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) and lead.

The samples of Patanjali Atta Noodles, Maggie and Yippee were found below standard in a test conducted by the Food Security and Drugs Administration (FSDA). The district officer of Department of Food and Drugs, V.K Verma, said that the tests were carried out on samples collected from Meerut in February.
