Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde warns Bishnoi Gang over Salman Khan's house firing

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on April 16 gave a stern warning to the Bishnoi gang and the accused over the firing incident at Salman Khan’s house and said that he will uproot all gangs and goons from Mahrashtra. On the firing incident outside actor Salman Khan's residence on April 14, CM Eknath Shinde said, "I met with Salman Khan and assured him the government is with him. I also directed the police team to take immediate action on this and in that path two of the accused have been arrested... This is Maharashtra, no gang is left here... We will uproot all the gangs and goons...Here hooliganism will not be allowed to continue... The accused arrested are being interrogated... Strict actions will be taken. I have also directed the Police Commissioner to provide security for Salman Khan and his family... It is our duty to take care of our people... I don't want to comment on what happened in the past government, but we will uproot all the gangs and goons who will try to harm any person of the state..."

Manohar Joshi: Former Maharashtra CM passes away at 86 due to cardiac arrest

Former Maharashtra chief minister Manohar Joshi passed away at the age of 86. Reportedly, he suffered a cardiac arrest on 21st February, Thursday and was immediately admitted to the ICU of P D Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. Manohar Joshi passed away at around 3am on Friday due to age-related health complications. The news was confirmed by P D Hinduja Hospital chief operating officer Joy Chakravarty. Manohar Joshi had been suffering from health issues since May 2023. He suffered a brain hemorrhage, the previous year and since then his health wasn't in good shape. Born in Raigad district of Maharashtra in a Brahmin family, Joshi did his master of Arts and LLB from Mumbai University. He began his political career by being elected to the Legislative Council and served three terms from 1972 to 1989. He also became the Mayor of Mumbai from 1976 to 1977. He was elected to the Legislative Assembly from a Shiv Sena ticket in 1990. He served as CM of Maharashtra from 1995-1999. He was elected for a six-year term to the Rajya Sabha on 20 March 2006 after being defeated in the previous Lok Sabha election in the Central Mumbai constituency.

Today, it marks the 15th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai attack. Commonly referred to as 26/11, these coordinated assaults by a group of 10 terrorists did mayhem on the streets of Mumbai and sent shockwaves through the nation and the world. Terrorists from the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group had entered the city of Mumbai on the night of November 26, 2008. Over the course of four days, they killed 166 people and injured 300.

Maratha Reservation: Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde holds meeting

Amid the ongoing Maratha reservation protest, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was seen leaving Raj Bhawan after meeting Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais. Later, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis also joined the meeting at Eknath Shinde’s Bungalow. The meeting was in the wake of the multiple violent protests that took place in demand for Maratha reservations. As the Maratha community’s movement flared up, multiple incidents of vehicles being set on fire came across on October 30. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Prakash Solanke’s residence in Maharashtra’s Beed was also set on fire by a group of pro-Maratha reservation protestors. The movement took a violent form due to which, massive damage has been caused to public and private property. Satara district will remain closed tomorrow while a curfew has also been imposed in Beed district.
