Mumbai is battling one of its deadliest monsoon spells of the season after relentless rainfall claimed at least 10 lives, triggered a deadly chawl collapse in Mankhurd, caused landslides and brought large parts of the city to a standstill. The biggest tragedy unfolded in Mankhurd's Janta Nagar, where a G+2 chawl collapsed following incessant rain. Six people, including five minors, lost their lives in the incident as rescue teams worked through the night to search the debris for survivors. Emergency personnel continue clearance and rescue operations as authorities investigate the cause of the collapse. Across Mumbai, heavy rain has led to multiple fatalities from tree falls, flooding and other weather-related incidents. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region remains under a Red Alert as extremely heavy rainfall disrupts daily life. Schools have been shut, suburban rail services have faced delays, roads remain waterlogged and emergency teams are on high alert across the city. WATCH
