Known as the "Black Mama" of the Indian western music industry, Malad-based Keshia B has built an audience for her deep, soulful voice. Christmas in Mumbai, her R&B soul single, is her debut original song which she released last year in December. The 32-year- old who has been a part of church choirs and carol singing groups in her area. "But when you listen to the song," she says, "it talks about how it was to live in Mumbai during the pandemic, how people have changed and what it means to celebrate a festival now. The essence of this song was to bring forth the message of kindness, love and hope.

Heavy rainfall in Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) on 16th July caused waterlogging in several parts of the city. Waterlogging was reported from chronic spots of Dadar, Parel, Wadala, Sion, besides low-lying areas in Malad, Santacruz, Dahisar. The city has been experiencing moderate to intense spells of rain since 15th July night.

A second building collapsed in the suburbs this week, in a slum in Malvani, Malad. The BMC has claimed the areas are outside their purview as they are on land parcels owned by different agencies. Most of the houses in slums are erected without strong support pillars and walls, endangering the lives of their residents.
