Indian Army’s female six-year-old Canine Labrador dog laid down her life during the encounter in J&K’s Rajouri on Sept 13. The six-year-old ‘Kent’, a canine from the 21 Army Dog Unit, was killed while she was shielding her handler during the encounter. Kent was leading a group of soldiers on the trail of fleeing terrorists during the encounter. Kent sustained injuries when she came under heavy fire during the encounter due to which she succumbed at the scene. GoC-in-Chief Northern Army Command lauded the canine’s valorous act, which saved life of a soldier. In a major success, security forces gunned down two terrorists in Narla area of J&K’s Rajouri on Sept 13. Indian Army along with J&K Police is carrying out the operation amid heightened security in Rajouri.

The standoff between India-China along the northern borders shows no sign of dying down anytime soon. During the 2020 standoff, both countries were almost on the verge of war and had deployed their heavy weaponry along LAC. India had deployed its recently inducted multirole fighter aircraft Rafale, aka the ‘Golden Arrow’ in the high-altitude region. IAF’s first and only female Rafale fighter pilot, Fl Lt Shivangi Singh praised the performance of her aircraft in the high-altitude area. Singh represented the Indian Air Force in the exercise Orion in France, where forces from many other major countries also participated. Speaking about the exercise, she said, "It was a great experience where I got an opportunity to meet the fighter pilots of different countries." Commissioned in 2017 in the second batch of women fighter pilots, Singh became the first female Rafale fighter aircraft.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray told Rahul Gandhi that he considers Hindutva ideologue V D Savarkar as his idol and asked the Congress leader to refrain from insulting him. Ex-MP Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from the Lok Sabha on Friday, a day after a court in Gujarat's Surat convicted him in a 2019 defamation case. Surekha Yadav, recently became the first woman to operate the newly introduced semi-high-speed Vande Bharat Express train. Yadav, who piloted the semi-high-speed train between Solapur station and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai, has broken the proverbial glass ceiling a number of times. She earned the distinction of becoming India’s first woman train driver in 1988. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also tweeted about Ms Yadav and her Vande Bharat Journey.

Harshly criticizing the airline while recounting the ‘pee-gate’ horror incident that happened onboard Air India New York-Delhi flight, eyewitness Sugata Bhattacharjee on January 08 said that his 2-page complaint regarding the incident went nowhere.
