Anant Ambani all set to bring lions & tigers from Argentina to Vantara

A group of about 60 felines will soon be translocated from an Argentine zoo to an Indian sanctuary due to overpopulation. The tigers and lions will travel from Argentina to India to live in Anant Ambani’s ‘Vantara’. The ‘Vantara’ owned by Anant Ambani in Gujarat, has thousands of hectares and a rescue centre for elephants. The Lujan Zoo, 60 kilometers in Buenos Aires, was closed during COVID-19 but would be reopened soon. The zoo has an overpopulation of felines, including ligers- lion and tiger crosses, pumas. ‘Vantara’ in Gujarat’s Jamnagar was recently launched in February 2024 by Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation. Vantara, an ambitious program is dedicated to the rescue, treatment, care, and rehabilitation of animals. The rescue, rehabilitation center spanning 650 acres has been established within the extensive 3000-acre premises in Jamnagar.

Anant Ambani & Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding event begins with 'Anna Seva'

The pre-wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and fiancee Radhika Merchant  started with Anna Seva on 28th February in Gujarat's Jamnagar. Mukesh Ambani, Anant Ambani and other members of the Ambani family, along with Radhika Merchant, served traditional Gujarati food to the villagers. Radhika's maternal grandmother and parents - Viren and Shaila Merchant also took part in the 'anna seva'. The food is to be served to about 51,000 local residents and the practice will continue for the next few days. The Ambani family organised anna seva to seek blessings of the local communities for the pre-wedding celebrations of the couple. Watch video

Reliance Industries and Reliance Foundation on Feb 26 announced the launch of ‘Vantara’  programme, an umbrella initiative to focus on rescue, treatment, care and rehabilitation of injured, abused and threatened animals, both in India and abroad. Spread over 3000 acres within the Green Belt of Reliance's Jamnagar Refinery Complex in Gujarat, ‘Vantara’ aims to be one of the leading contributors to conservation efforts globally.The Vantara initiative, the first of its kind in India, has been conceptualized and birthed under the passionate leadership of Anant Ambani, Director on the boards of RIL and Reliance Foundation. Addressing the press conference, Anant Ambani spoke on his new initiative for animal rescue. Anant said that for this initiative he drew inspiration from his mother.
