Baba Siddique: Veteran Leader Baba Siddique leaves Congress to join NCP

Veteran Leader from the Congress party Baba Siddique on Feb 10 joined NCP in presence of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar .This came after he officially resigned from Congress putting an end to his 48 years of journey with the party. During his speech, he claimed that ‘perception politics’ was being done in Congress. Siddique, a former legislator from Bandra (west), is the second big face to quit the grand-old party before the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls. In January, Milind Deora exited from the party to join Shiv Sena led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. In a tweet, he announced, "I joined the Indian National Congress party as a young teenager and it has been a significant journey lasting 48 years. Today I resign from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress Party with immediate effect."

In a big political move in Maharashtra politics, Former Congress leader Milind Deora today joined Shiv Sena in the presence of Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, in Mumbai after quitting Congress. After joining Shiv Sena, Milind Deora said, "I have been receiving a lot of phone calls since morning that why did I sever 55-year-old ties of my family with Congress party...I was loyal to the party during its most challenging decade. Unfortunately, today's Congress is very different from the Congress of 1968 as well as that of 2004. Had Congress and UBT given importance to constructive & positive suggestions and merit & capability, Eknath Shinde and I wouldn't have been here. Eknath Shinde had to make a major decision, I had to make a major decision..."

Milind Deora quits Congress ending '55-years relationship', to join Shiv Sena?

Milind Deora has ended ‘55-yr relationship’ with Congress and according to sources, he might join Shinde-led Shiv Sena. According to sources, Milind Deora, along with few former corporators and 450 supporters, will join Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday at around 2 pm. After Milind Deora quits Congress, he further said he was walking on the path to development. Post this, he was seen offering prayers at the Siddhivinyak temple. "Today marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in my political journey. I have tendered my resignation from the primary membership of @INCIndia, ending my family’s 55-year relationship with the party," Milind Deora said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
