A deadly hillside collapse struck Gaushiya Chawl in Chirag Nagar, Kurla, during the early morning hours, killing seven people and injuring three others after a massive amount of debris crashed onto nearby rooms. The landslide sent rubble onto two to three rooms of the residential chawl, leaving residents trapped beneath the debris and triggering an urgent multi-agency rescue operation. The Mumbai Fire Brigade declared a Level-II emergency as teams rushed to the scene. Around 50 BMC workers joined NDRF personnel in the search, rescue and debris-clearing operation as authorities worked to determine whether more people remained trapped. WATCH

A fire broke out at Mumbai’s bustling Churchgate Railway Station on the evening of June 5th, 2025, around 5:26 PM. The blaze reportedly started inside a shop located within the station premises. Thick black smoke could be seen billowing from the spot, alarming commuters and passersby. Fire extinguishers were quickly rushed to the scene as Mumbai Fire Brigade, police, and ward staff swung into action to bring the situation under control. No injuries have been reported so far. Officials are now investigating the cause of the fire.
