Six people, including five minors, lost their lives in the incident as rescue teams worked through the night to search the debris for survivors. Across Mumbai, heavy rain has led to multiple fatalities from tree falls, flooding and other weather-related incidents. Heavy monsoon rains have battered Mumbai, causing severe waterlogging across several parts of the city and triggering a tragic incident in Sakinaka. A 55-year-old man, Aslam Esaf Shaikh, was swept into an open manhole concealed beneath floodwater during the downpour. Fire brigade and disaster management teams launched a rescue operation, and his body was recovered after nearly two hours. He was later declared dead at Rajawadi Hospital.
