Sudha Murty on 14th of March took oath as a member of Rajya Sabha. This came days after her nomination to the upper house Parliament. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar administered oath to the newly elected Member Sudha Murty in the Parliament House. She was accompanied by her husband, Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, and Union Minister Piyush Goyal. President Droupadi Murmu nominated philanthropist, and author Sudha Murty to the Rajya Sabha. Sudha Murty has recieved prestigious awards including the Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Puraskar, Padma Shri in 2006 and Padma Bhushan in 2023. Watch video

The countdown has begun for the Karnataka Assembly Polls. Around 5.3 crore general voters will decide the future of candidates. The voting for the Karnataka assembly elections will take place from 7 am to 6 pm.84,119 State Police Officers and 58,500 CAPF police are on Law and Order and security duty on the poll day across the state. The polling parties are being provided with all the materials including EVM and VVPAT machines at the mustering centres in all the 224 Assembly Constituencies. Speaking on the on-going Sonu Nigam's Jet Airways controversy, singer Kavita Krishnamurthy supported her counterpart, saying that suspension was a harsh decision.
