Supreme Court of India praises India’s growing economy as robust

The Supreme Court praised the growing Indian economy as robust and recognised in the world. The Supreme Court’s observation came while hearing the suit filed by Kerala Government against Centre. The Kerala Govt accused the Centre of not allowing it to borrow more money to meet its needs. Justices Surya Kant, KV Vishwanathan were hearing Kerala Govt’s plea raising the grave financial crisis. The Supreme Court remarked that India's economy is robust and is recognised in the entire world. Notably, India is currently the fifth largest economy of the world and visions to become the third largest soon. PM Modi has exuded confidence in returning to power and making the nation third-largest economy. External Affairs Minister also recently said that the country will soon move to grab the third position.

XPoSat: ISRO to launch first scientific satellite to study black hole emissions

On the first day of New Year 2024, ISRO is going to launch another space mission PSLV-C58 / XPoSat. XPoSat is the first scientific satellite from ISRO to carry out research in space-based polarisation measurements of X-ray emission from celestial source. This will be India’s first dedicated mission to study emissions from black holes, neutron stars. The launch will be carried out from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. 2023 has been a successful year for ISRO as many successful missions have been carried out. Chandrayaan-3 was the most iconic as India became the first country to reach the south pole of the Moon. India’s solar mission Aditya-L1 is also nearing success as the spacecraft is inching closer to L1 point.

India’s newest Heron Mark-2 drones are one of the most advanced drones

The Indian Air Force recently inducted its latest Heron Mark 2 drones, which have strike capability and can carry out surveillance along the borders with both China and Pakistan in a single sortie itself. The four new Heron Mark-2 drones, which can be equipped with long-range missiles and other weapons systems, have been deployed at a forward air base in the northern sector. The drones with satellite communication capability have given a long desired capability to the Indian Air Force, as its drones can operate at very long distances for close to 36 hours at a stretch and can also laser illuminate enemy targets from very long ranges to help fighter aircraft destroy them using their long-range weapons.

Referring to Morgan Stanley’s ‘transformation’ report on India’s development in the last decade, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on June 01 in Delhi hailed India’s rapid growth under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Further crediting the country’s growth to its 3Ds- democracy, demography of young population and demand, the Union Minister said that India will emerge as a developed nation in the next 25 years. “It is an important day for Indian international image. This day will be remembered for long for India’s development pace under PM Modi. Today, India is entirely different than what it was in 2013. India has rapidly moved forward with its 3Ds; democracy, demography of young population and demand. In the next 25 years, India will emerge as a developed country,” Goyal said. India recently garnered praise over its development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a Morgan Stanley ‘transformation’ report. The report called India heavily ‘transformed’ than what it was in 2013

Rekha Singh, widow of Galwan hero Naik Deepak Singh who was killed in Galwan Valley clashes has now become an army officer. Lieutenant Rekha Singh was commissioned into the army recently. Her husband, Naik Deepak Singh was martyred in action while fighting Chinese soldiers on June 15, 2020 in the Galwan Vallery. The attack had claimed the lives of 20 soldiers in 2020.

India to become $30 trillion economy in next 30 years, said Piyush Goyal

According to Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, India is on track to become a $30 trillion economy in the next 30 years by its robust GDP growth. During the Luncheon interaction with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), he said, "India has undergone game-changing economic reforms. There is renewed enthusiasm to expand the frontiers of economic activity. Growth rates in India suggest we are on course to become a $30 trillion economy in 30 years.” The Union Minister is on an official visit to the United States where he will attend the first Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) ministerial meeting.
