Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) was officially renamed as the Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library (PMML) Society with effect from 14th August. Over the renaming of the museum, a row erupted between Congress and BJP. Congress lashed the Modi Government’s decision of changing the name of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library. While, BJP countered Congress’ attacks over renaming the museum. Earlier, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh had denounced the renaming of the museum. He had said that the government has a single point agenda of denying, distorting, defaming and destroying the Nehruvian legacy.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held bilateral talks with Minister of National Defence of Vietnam General Phan Van Giang on June 19. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral meeting with Japanese PM Fumio Kishida, Vietnamese PM Pham Binh Minh, and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeo in Hiroshima on sidelines of 49th G7 summit on May 20. The leaders held discussion on wide range of issues and ways to enhance Indo-Japan, Indo-South Korean, and Indo-Vietnam ties. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on February 23 addressed party workers in Bengaluru. Addressing the gathering at the occasion, HM Shah said that the Congress has become a ‘parivaarvadi’ party and there is no internal democracy. Amit Shah said, “Today the Congress, which played an important role in the freedom movement of the country, is engulfed in the family system. Congress has become a ‘parivaarvadi’ party, there is no internal democracy. SP first became a caste-based party and then a familial party. CPI(M) had narrow thoughts about the economy, and they were wiped out from most parts of the world. BJP followed its ideology throughout and faced a lot of struggle to become the party it is today. Congress was immersed in ‘parivaarvad’ but not us.
