NASA has officially ended its MAVEN Mars mission after losing contact with the spacecraft in December 2025. The orbiter spent more than 11 years studying the Martian atmosphere, far exceeding its planned mission lifespan

The planet, called TOI-199b, is about the size of Saturn and contains methane in its atmosphere. The discovery is unusual because giant planets are typically found in extreme uninhabitable environments
