Chhatisgarh Naxal Encounter: A detailed ground reporting from the encounter site

One of the largest operations carried out by security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker in which 29 Naxalites were gunned down and huge quantities of arms and ammunition were also recovered. On the Kanker encounter, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, "Yesterday, security forces achieved great success in Chhattisgarh. Ever since Modi ji became the Prime Minister, the BJP government has launched a continuous campaign against Naxalism and terrorism.” IG Bastar P Sundarraj said, "Yesterday, an encounter broke out between security forces and Naxalites which lasted for around 4 hours. Teams of DRG and BSF cordoned off the area and as a result, 29 bodies of CPI Maoists were recovered, out of which 15 were female and 14 were male. Arms and ammunition were recovered in large quantities from the spot. The autopsy of bodies of the Maoists are underway."

Chhattisgarh Naxal encounter: 29 Naxals shot dead in Kanker, Chhattisgarh

In a massive success, security force officials foiled a major conspiracy to disrupt peace in Chhatisgarh’s Kanker, days ahead of LS Polls. In a high-voltage encounter with Naxals, security forces killed at least 29 Maoists in the region. As per police, 3 jawans were also injured during the exchange of fire and were shifted to a higher centre for better treatment. The area has been cordoned off and a search operation is still underway. Bastar IG P Sundarraj said that the operation could be seen as the biggest success in recent times. More details will follow. The film has spine-chilling shots of Naxalites killing CRPF Jawans and also scenes depicting JNU students celebrating the death of Jawans. Talking about her film, Adah Sharma said, “We can roam freely because our Jawans are protecting us. If a film is being on our Jawans, our 76 Jawans who were brutally killed by Naxals, I would definitely stand for a film that says that’s wrong.” The film is set to hit the theatres on 15th March.

Dantewada Maoist Attack: Wife tries to offer herself on husband's funeral pyre

On April 26, Naxal attack in Chattisgarh's Dantewada sent shockwaves across the nation. A day later, a heart-wrenching video describes the pain that such attacks inflict on families of jawans. DRG jawans, who were killed by high-intensity IED blast, left behind their loved ones in pain and agony. On Apr 27, last respects were paid and the mortal remains of soldiers were taken to their native villages for the last rites. The funeral ceremony of jawan Lakhmu Markam was filled with sorrow and pride. Markam's aggrieving wife even tried to offer herself on the funeral pyre of her husband instead of the braveheart. Hundreds of villagers gathered at his residence to pay their last respects. People raised slogans like "Shaheed Jawan Amar Rahe" during his antim yatra.  His supreme sacrifice has made his entire village proud who were bidding him farewell with teary eyes. Villager Chetram Atami condoled the incident however he shared that the whole village is proud of him for sacrificing his life for the country.

CM Baghel lends shoulder to Jawans, says their sacrifices won’t go in vain

Wreaths were laid on Thursday at the bodies of 10 police personnel and a civilian driver who died in a blast carried out by Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district. The Chief Minister lent his shoulder to the coffin of one of the jawans on way to a vehicle in which the bodies were being shifted to native places of the dead cops. Ten personnel, belonging to the District Reserve Guard (DRG), and a civilian driver were killed after Maoists blew up their Multi-Utility Vehicle (MUV) which was part of a convoy carrying security personnel in Aranpur police station area of Dantewada on Wednesday afternoon. After paying homage to the personnel who died in the Naxal attack on Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said the sacrifices of the jawans will not go in vain and the fight against Maoists will be intensified.
