A deeply disturbing development has shaken Manipur after bodies believed to be those of six abducted Naga hostages were recovered following an intensive search operation, ending hopes that the victims would be released safely. The discovery comes after days of tension surrounding a series of alleged tit-for-tat abductions that had raised fears of further instability in the region. As efforts continued to secure the release of those taken hostage, expectations had reportedly grown that reciprocal releases could help defuse the situation. Instead, the recovery of six bodies has plunged communities into grief and anger. The fallout quickly spread beyond the recovery site. In Senapati, the headquarters of the Naga People's Front (NPF) was reportedly vandalised amid rising public anger. Visuals from the area showed damage to the premises as emotions ran high following confirmation of the deaths. WATCH
