Students at various colleges in Mumbai, have taken up a new project growing organic veggies on their campus. Harvesting garlic, basil, spinach, lettuce and herbs etc, and plants with medicinal value, the students use wet waste from their canteens to convert it into bacterial compost. This is then used as soil. Students are now hopeful that they can expand their organic farming project to larger spaces.
