Hurricane Lala which was latest downgraded to a Tropical Storm category, battered Hawaii with torrential rain, powerful winds and major flooding, leaving more than 126,000 households without power. The Big Island records extraordinary rainfall, with Laupahoehoe receiving 42.69 inches between Friday and Sunday, including more than 31 inches in just 24 hours. Wind gusts reach 50 to 90 mph across parts of Hawaii, while a 154 mph gust is recorded atop Maunakea.
