After getting tremendous response for mass wedding of 577 couples belonging to drought-affected areas and weaker sections conducted by the Shiv Sena at Parbhani and Aurangabad, the Maharashtra state Bharatiya Janata Party president Raosaheb Danve organised a mass marriage for 550 couples.

Manjara dam, one of the major source of water in Latur, Maharashtra, has completely dried up. Dams that supply water to several districts in the area have dried up in the recent weeks. Other districts such as Osmanabad and Beed are also reeling under severe water crisis.

A 50-wagon train carrying around 25 lakh litres of drinking water reached Maharashtra's drought-hit Latur on Wednesday morning. The train had left for Latur from Miraj near Pune on Tuesday night.
