But in a bid to modernize the electoral process and enhance efficiency, a significant transition took place – the introduction of Electronic Voting Machines or EVMs. Let's take a look into how the transition from paper ballots to EVMs in Lok Sabha elections took place. Before the advent of EVMs, voters cast their votes by marking their choices on paper ballots. These ballots were then placed in sealed ballot boxes. Counting paper ballots was a time-consuming process, often requiring days or even weeks to tally the votes accurately. Additionally, there were concerns about ballot stuffing, tampering, and errors in counting. So to curb the issue, electronic Voting Machines, the game-changer in the world of elections, came into the picture.

RJD MLAs have been camping at former Bihar Dy CM Tejashwi Yadav’s residence in Patna since Feb 10. However, Congress MLAs have not been a part of the meeting as they left for Bihar from Hyderabad earlier in the day. Congress CLP leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan said that “Khela Hoga” ahead of the trust vote. Meanwhile, a day before the Bihar floor test, JD(U) leaders flocked to Finance Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary’s residence. Bihar CM and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar also attended the meeting ahead of the crucial floor test. BJP MLAs also left from Mahabodhi resort in Gaya to get ready for the trust vote and the party exuded confidence. RLJD Chief Upendra Kushwaha claimed that Tejashwi Yadav himself would be victim of “Khela”. Meanwhile, RJD has claimed that ‘Operation Lantern’ will outweigh ‘Op Kamal’ in Bihar, and ‘Khela Baaki Hai’.

Addressing the State Department briefing on Wednesday (local time), the official spokesperson Matthew Miller said, “I would say of – with respect to the clashes that obviously we would, as always, urge calm and urge parties to refrain from violent actions.” “With respect to whether we’ve heard from any Americans, I’m not aware of that. I’m happy to follow up with the – with the embassy,” he said when asked about any American citizen impacted by the clashes in Gurugram. Clashes between two groups broke out in Nuh on Monday afternoon after a religious procession passing through the district came under attack, leaving two home guards dead and dozens of people — including around 20 policemen — injured in the frenzy of violence that followed.
